about

The apartments are hosted by José Miguel Arraez Guadalupe and Zula Winiewka, whose lives and work reflect two perspectives that meet on Lanzarote: a deep connection to local traditions and an international artistic outlook. José Miguel was born in Órzola and has spent his life closely connected to the sea, the landscape, and the culture of northern Lanzarote. His family ran the renowned Perla del Atlántico restaurant, a beloved meeting place during the 1980s and 1990s, known for its local cuisine and live Canarian music. He also owned and managed the locally famous bar El Rana, remembered by many residents and visitors as a lively gathering place full of character and local atmosphere. A passionate advocate of Canarian gastronomy, José Miguel has dedicated much of his life to preserving and sharing the culinary traditions of the island. He was also one of the founders of Parranda de Órzola, helping to preserve and promote the musical heritage of Lanzarote. Today, he continues to share his love for the island through his writing and photography, documenting its landscapes, wildlife, traditions, and community life. Zula Winiewka is a Polish painter and cultural practitioner who found her artistic home on Lanzarote. Inspired by the island's volcanic landscapes, Atlantic light, and unique atmosphere, she has developed her artistic practice here for many years. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is deeply influenced by the natural environment and cultural richness of the island. Together, they have created a place that combines hospitality, local knowledge, creativity, and a genuine love for Lanzarote. They are always happy to share recommendations, stories, and insights that help guests experience the island beyond the usual tourist routes
